I love these. I was also worried about noise. I produce music and on top of that I'm also very sensitive to noise. However in practice I found most of the concerns blown out of proportion. Videos might show the extremes but in practice it's quieter than typing on the keyboard by far. No complaints so far I've been using them for half a year. They complement the endgame perfectly.

Wow, these bearings are crazy good! And the price offered by EFOG is way better than anything I could source locally. I was a little worried they'd be loud based on the sample video, but I find the noise to be a little soothing and a little addictive. My main problem right now is that it's so fun to just throw the ball back and forth from monitor to monitor that I get distracted and don't get work done! I have read about the importance of maintenance, especially to avoid rust. They're easy to pop out of the trackball as well and, if ordered in a kit, you still get the statics as a backup. These things are so smooth that twist to scroll has never felt so natural. I came from, mainly, a Slimblade and I'd say these feel about 10x as smooth, less stiction, and sooooo much more throw. It's honestly such a different feeling from other trackballs (CST L-Trac, Slimblade) that it's hard to communicate the magnitude. I'd almost want to classify a BTU trackball as a different pointer device, sort of like how thumb trackballs are compared to finger trackballs. Anyway, no regrets, these BTUs make me understand why people are so crazy about dropping a few hundred dollars on a trackball. I'd say the one disadvantage that they have over something like the static bearings or roller bearings is that they almost feel a little gritty. While you're rubbing the trackball, you can tell that you're rolling a bearing. Similar to, I guess, the vibrations you feel when you are pushing a shopping cart or anything else that uses bearings. It's not as "perfectly smooth" as rollers or statics because, well, they're not perfectly smooth. But the free form movement of the ball is unparalleled. I don't know if I can ever go back.
